Kapil Sharma confirms he’s taking a break from TV
Ace comedian Kapil Sharma has confirmed that his Sony TV show The Kapil Sharma Show is going off air.
After Pehredaar Piya Ki, Sony TV has taken a big decision to pull its flagship show The Kapil Sharma Show off air. The channel will temporarily shut the show and will take a season break. The channel has confirmed that the show will be back once things fall back in place again.
Kapil has also confirmed that owing to his health reasons, he’s taking a break from TV. “Yes, I am just going to rest for some days. It is just a drop of a few episodes because I cannot ignore my health at this stage when my movie is also going to release and the coming schedule is going to be more hectic. I will come back with full force. I am thankful to the channel that they allowed me and did not put any pressure,” Kapil told Pinkvilla. An official spokesperson from the channel told India Today. “Kapil has been under the weather for sometime now. Due to which, we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However once Kapil has recovered completely, we will start shooting once again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.” The year 2017 was a year of controversies for the popular comedian Kapil Sharma. It started with his fight with co-stars Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar. What followed next was a series of controversies and majority of his actors quit the show. Then there was news of Kapil not reporting on time for his shoots. That led to cancellation of episodes and also upset big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Shradha Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.
The channel had to to run repeat telecasts when Kapil refused to come for shoots citing heath issues. Most recently Kapil cancelled shoot with the team of Baadshaho and this was the final nail in the coffin.
Till than Super Dancer 2 will air in the slot allotted to The Kapil Sharma Show.
